Lined scarf finished

Lined scarf finished

A quick update on Tomás’s Christmas scarf: I went with Katie’s suggestion to have it lined and I am happy I did for two main reasons.

1. The scarf curled and curled like a worm high on caffeine, even after my attempt at “blocking” it. It just wouldn’t lie flat.

2. I used up a very soft material I had left over from my dressing gown. It will be super warm as it is a double sided fabric. I thought about peeling off the red side, but decided against it, as all layers are welcome in winter in Boston.

The scarf made its debut on New Year’s Eve, when we all headed out into Cambridge, risking frostbite and hypothermia, to see the fireworks from the other side of the Charles River. The temperature was 28 degrees Farenheit (minus 2 Celsius) but luckily for us Pete got us all toe and hand warmers, which made a huge difference.

Here are some pictures of our view of the fireworks and Tomás’s scarf (I didn’t put it on him… I would have placed in a more stylish way, but you get the idea).
